| I believe that children learn best through hands-on learning.
Each child learns at their own pace; the teachers, parents, and guardians
should work together to create the learning experiences that are best for
the children. Teachers should set up the classroom to stimulate curiosity
and learning. They should make observations to illustrate how much
each child is learning, growing, and developing during the school year.
I feel that child-directed learning is the best approach to planning. The children should decide what the focus should be in the classroom and for how long. If one class is interested in camping, they will learn about camping. The classroom environment should change as the focus changes. I realize that not every student is interested in the same thing. If one child is interested in something other than what his or her classmates are interested in, he or she will be free to explore that topic for as long as he or she wishes. The teacher should provide materials and experiences appropriate for the entire class and for each individual. Teachers should provide the proper materials and experiences to ensure physical, emotional, cognitive, language, and moral development of the students. It is my belief that every child is capable of learning.
Through hands-on experiences, the children I teach will develop a thirst
for knowledge. As an early childhood teacher, I hope to give children
what they need to become life-long learners.
